Surya Mitra

The Surya Mitra program targets to enhance the skills of youth, considering the scopes for employment in the rising Solar Energy Power project’s plantation, operation & conservation in India and abroad. The Surya Mitra Program is also configured to train the candidates to become new entrepreneurs in the Solar Energy sector. The Surya Mitra Skill Development Programs are financed by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India.

Ans:-Surya Mitra course is a 600 hours (i.e. 3 months) skill development program designed to produce skilled manpower in installation, implementation, and Operation & Maintenance of solar power plants and equipment.

Ans:-The following are the eligibility criteria of this program :-
• The candidate must be 10th pass and ITI in Wireman/Electrician/Electronics Mechanic/Fitter/ Sheet Metal and candidates should not be below 18 years.
• The applicants with diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics branches will be preferred. Candidates with electrician certificate and experience will also be preferred. The Engineering Graduates and persons with other higher qualification are not eligible to apply for this program.
• Special focus must be given to the persons coming from rural background, unemployed youth, women, SC/ST candidates during the selection of trainees
• Persons with higher qualifications like degree in any discipline or higher are strictly not eligible for this program.

Ans:-The duration of this residential skill development program is 600 hrs (approximately 90 days).

Ans:-Presently there shall be 30 seats for each batch of the training program.
