Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY)is a special scheme implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India with an aim to skill rural youth who are poor and give them with jobs having a usual monthly wage at or above the minimum wage. It is a part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) - the mission to curb poverty called Aajeevika.
Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) chases its goal of reducing rural poverty by adopting a multi-faceted strategy. This comprises programs for rural housing (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - PMAY), rural infrastructure (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana - PMGSY), livelihood promotion (National Rural Livelihood Mission - Aajeevika), employment guarantee (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme - MGNREGS) and social pensions (National Social Assistance Program - NSAP). DDU-GKY emanates its importance from its capacity to curb poverty by varying incomes and decreasing their uncertainty.

Ans:-Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is the skilling and placement initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. DDU-GKY has its sources in the Aajeevika Skills program and the ‘Special Projects’ part of the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY). The scheme concentrates on providing the occupational hopes of rural youth and improving their skills for wage employment.
Implementation of DDU-GKY involves State Governments, Technical Support Agencies like the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).
MoRD has notified the guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to be tracked while executing the program. It is compulsory for all project officials under DDU-GKY to be evaluated, trained, and certified in the Standard Operating Procedures. This e-learning portal is configured to assist self-learning of the SOP as well as certification.

Ans:-Captive placements are supported for partners that have the ability to train and engage candidates in their own workforce. Placements in agencies delivering regular monthly wages. Placement in Government organizations or agencies engaged in public service delivery.

Ans:-The principal responsibilities are as follows :-
1. Approve a grant as per project regulations, towards the cost of training (with central and state shares as instructed).
2. Prioritize sanctions of training projects.
3. Assist mobilization through States where the projects are approved.

Ans:-All applicants who belonged from poor families, and are between the ages of 15 and 35 years, are eligible for the training programs.
